Hi everyone,

It was really great to meet all of you today.  You're such a lively group!!! I'm really looking forward to our lessons this year.

Syllabus and Schedule:
We had a short introduction activity and you got to meet your classmates.  We then went looked at the syllabus and our course schedule.  You can find all of this information in the Oral English 2 --> Course Information section.

My one of the most memorable experience is the happening of going to the live concert of UVERworld,my favorite musician group, for the first time. At that time, I was high school student. The day of the concert had the game of baseball team I belonged to. So I didn't make it to the time the concert starting and might be too late for the concert for the worst. As soon as the game had come to the end, my father took me to the place of the concert by car at high speed. Thanks to that, I was late by only 5 minites. Therefore, I enjoyed the concert very much. I remember appreciating my father so much at the day. So, It is one of my memorable experience.

Trip to Hiroshima has been one of the most memorable experiences in my life.

I went to Hiroshima with my father last year. Hiroshima is his native prefecture.
We visited two world heritages during the trip: the Atomic Bomb Dome and Itsukusima shrine. I was moved to see them.
After the sightseeing, I met my grandfather and grandmother. We hadn't seen for 15 years. We had a great time.

Hiroshima was wonderful place. I want to visit again!

My one of the most memorable experience is the trip to Yakushima. When I was an elementary school student, I went to Yakushima as one part of developing healthy boys. I experienced and enjoyed a variety of things in Yakushima. The night sky of Yakushima made an especially deep impression on me. the sky was full of stars and they were twinkling. At that time, I thought that we should save that beautiful scenery. From that time, I came to like looking up at the stars. Maybe someday, I will go to Yakushima and view that scenery.

My most memorable experience is the trip with my family to a Japanese- style hotel in Nagano. It was more wonderful than I had thought. First, it was so large that I got lost, but in the facility, there were many private studies which had many books, so I could relax while I was reading books without caring about people around me. And, there were a terrace whose viewing in winter had very beautiful snow scene. Second, we had Japanese-style meal. It was very delicious and beautiful. Finally, what was the most surprising thing was a bath because it was very long cave and had many falls, therefore I was very surprised to see it. I could have a very good time there and I want to go there again, so it is one of my memorable experiences in my life.

One of the most memorable experiences in my life is the trip to Hokkaido. I travel with my mother and had been there for four days. In Hokkaido, I did many activities. For example, I painted the plate, play golf and tennis and went to the zoo and so on. In the zoo, I watched a lot of animals for my summer homework of science. Most enjoyable activity is playing frisbee. The dog run and catched the frisbee I threw. I had never played frisbee, but I was able to do it very well,so the instructor of frisbee praised me very much. My trip to Hokkaido was very good,so I want to visit again. Perhaps I'm going to go to Hokkaido this summer vacation.

One of the most memorable experience in my life is that I lived in America. It was my fifth year of elemenrtary scool that our family moved to California. I lived there for about four years. I didn't undersatand English and I had hard time communicating with other people at first. Although I didin't understand what people are saying, I liked all the holidays and the events and I still like them. I miss halloween and christmas the most. Stores and restaurants were decorated for it and it always made me feel excited. Sometime while I'm a university student, I want to go back to America.

The Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011 is one of the most memorable experiences in my life. At that time, I was studying in my room. Suddenly, I felt a strong earthquake I had never experienced. Everything on the bookshelf fell down onto my head and the floor. I clearly remember that I hid under the desk and screamed in fright with grabbing the legs of the desk. As I turned on TV, a lot of unbelievable scenes were being broadcast. People were evacuating at the risk of their lives. It was just like a hell. I have never had such a horrible experience, so I can’t forget those sights. We must hand down the importance of disaster prevention to coming ages.

Taking a junior high school entrance examination is one of the most memorable experience in my life. I had to study very hard everyday while my friends were playing in the park or watching TV. I learned kanji and trained calculation in the morning, went to the cram school after school, and did my homework after returning home. Although I had plenty of confidence to pass the examination because I think I was studying very hard, I failed. I was very sad and frustrated then, but I think it is not the worst experience for me now. I made the best of this failure for the entrance examinations for universities. I could study much harder and more seriously. I think the failure made me learn at Aoyama Gakuin University, so I feel failures are not "failures" in the true meaning.

My most memorable experience is having played the viola in the concert of the club of a high school. When I was in the high school, I joined the string orchestra. We had held a lot of concert until then, but the concert which was last for us the 3rd graders is very important to me.

The reasons why it is important are not only it was final concert for me, but also The Great East Japan Earthquake happened just before the concert. Since our high school was in Kanagawa, damage was not so serious. However, it became impossible to come into our school and we weren’t able to practice. Although we felt nervous, we did the best thing we could do in the situation.

Finally, we managed to perform. I had thought it was natural to play with my friends, but I realized that it was a precious thing.

One of the most memorable experiences in my life is a trip to Osaka.
When I was high school student, I couldn't go on a school trip because of ekiden relay race. It was very unlucky but we, members of track and field club, decided to go on a trip to Osaka.
We had stayed there for two days. The first day, we went to Dotonbori and ate a lot of delicious foods of Osaka. The last day, after we enjoyed running around the hotel, we went to the USJ. There were a lot of exiting rides and they greatly entertained me. We had a good time in Osaka.
I will never forget this memory.

I still clearly remember the day I got the acceptance to enter in my high school, and this is one of the most memorable experiences in my life. Before the announcement, everyone told me not to expect the result. I knew they didn’t want me to feel depressed, but actually I was pretty sure of my success because I studied hard and hard like I had never done before. On my way home with a big brown envelope in my arms, it suddenly started snowing. I felt as if the God was also cerebrating for my victory. Since then when I have something in my mind, which I cannot go a day without thinking about, I just give it a try.

One of the most memorable experiences in my life is the long distance swim.In my high school, first grade students go to a summer trip to Chiba and had to swim a long distance, about two or three kilometers. However,I couldn't swim at all when I entered high school.I was so concerned about the trip that I practiced swimming with my friends everyday after school.About three weeks later,I was able to swim with the breaststroke for a long time.
Then the day when we swim in the ocean came.I was so afraid of swimming in the ocean, however,I believed that I was always with my friends. Finally,I managed to swim all the way! I cried with my friends and we hugged with each other.I will never forget this experience.

The most memorable event in my life is taking trip to Nikko with my friend in this spring break. There are not any special events in this trip, but I believe it could be my turning point because we planned the whole trip schedule from start to end. Not everything went well as planned: train had stopped for heavy snow, no restaurants to eat lunch, got lost our way, and so on. However, in the end of the trip, I felt full of satisfaction and felt like I had become independent. So this summer, next I am planning to visit Vietnam!

One of the most memorable experiences in my life is homestay in California. I had this experience when I was in sixth grade. I stayed there for only 2weeks, but I had so much fun. For example, I went Hollywood, Disneyland and Universal Studios Hollywood. At that time, Disneyland was the 50th anniversary, so I think it was very good timing to go. And other, I went to the sea with my host family. My birthplace, Nara prefecture has no sea shore, so I was very happy to go to the sea. From these things, I had great time at there. I want to go to California again someday.

One of the most memorable experiences in my life is a travel to Italy of the summer of last year. It was a very tight schedule. As soon as reached Milan in the evening, next day, I visit famous tourist spots, such as “the Last Supper”. After that, I went to Verona and Venice in the afternoon. The places that I visited during the travel amount to ten places. Such days continued for nine days, so I was very tired. However, the experience was more wonderful and exciting than ever before. I would like to travel a impressing spot slowly some day.

One of the most memorable experience in my life is my birthday this year. My birthday is April 3rd and I turned 20 years old then. The day, I was at Sagamihara campus in order to invite freshman in our club activity. After the invitation activity, I went out for eating supper with club members. We tasted hamburger, steak, etc in each at the restaurant. It was delicious, so I felt good. When finishing eating supper and talking all together, the waiter appeared with the cake suddenly. He said , " It's a present for the person of a birth day." It was unexpected persent from club members, I was very very surprised and happy. I'm going to celebrate members on their birthday too.

Living abroad was one of the most memorable experience in my life. One day, when I was in third-grade in elementary school, father told me that our family has to move abroad to Chicago due to his job. I could not express my feelings that time, because I thought living outside of Japan was totally not to do with me.
Since I had no knowledge of English, I had a hard time becoming use to live in the states. I even could not ask my teacher that I wanted to go to restroom! However, after spending years in Chicago, I made some friends in school and started having fun.
After I moved back in Japan, I still keep in touch with friends in Chicago.

One of the most memorable experiences is travel with my friend. We went to Hyogo and Osaka from Feb. 18 to 20. We used all-night bus for the first time.I couldn't sleep, but I was relaxed better than I thought. We went to USJ. I have always believed to go, so I was very excited. We ate a lot of Takoyaki, so I don't want to eat for a while. This travel gave me courage because I had my plans all laid out. I want to go to Osaka alone.
