Hi everyone,

Wow!  I was very impressed with the presentations in Thursday's lesson.  You really did a fantastic job on your slide presentations, and made a lot of effort to convey your message clearly and confidently.

For next week's presenters, remember these points:
  1. Speak loud enough.
  2. Make eye contact with the audience.  Don't look at the screen too long.

In next week's class, we will continue with our presentations.  We will hear from groups 4, 5 and 6.

Homework:
1.  Blog Comment #9
2.  Presentation Preparation groups 4, 5 and 6)

Blog Comment #9

Answer ONE of these questions.

If you presented, answer this question:
How did you feel about your presentation?  What were some things you did well?  What were some things you had trouble with?

If you did not present, answer this question:
Which presentation did you like the best?  Why?

  • Write 8-10 sentences.
  • Use capitalization, punctuation & spelling correctly.
  • Submit by Wednesday, December 4 by 6:00pm.

I’m in group 1 and I think that I could do my best. Before the presentation, I was very nervous and I was worried about whether I could present well or not. But now I feel relieved because we could end it without any big troubles. I think that I could speak clearly and emphasize important words. However, I couldn’t make enough eye contact with the audience. I tended to look at the slides. All I could do was explaining what I want them to tell.
Though making presentation was difficult, it was a great experience for me. I learned not only presentation skills but also the importance of cooperating with my group members. I really appreciate my group members.

I think all groups’ presentations were very good. I like the Group 1 presentation best. The reason is that their presentation was easy for me to understand. First, the slide was clear and had a lot of important information, so I could get the information which I didn’t know. Second, their explanation was very easy to understand. They spoke loudly and clearly, so it was easy to hear that they said. In addition, I felt they were confident. I didn’t know about World Vision so much, but thanks to their presentation, I could understand and know about it more. Our group will present next lesson, so I want to do like Group 1! I want to do our best with my members!

I was an audience in the last class. Of course, every group's presentation were great, I think the presentation of group 1 was the best. The theme of group 1 is "World vision" and I could understand easily thanks to the group. I think there are two reasons. First, they introduced not only information but also the background of the NPO. It shows their understanding about the NPO group. Second, it also shows their understanding, they didn't look notes and used a lot of body languages. I think I have to practice hard by looking their presentation.

I did the presentation about JRCS last week. I think our slides were well-prepared because each of our group members made the slides hard. I hope our slides helpd the explanation. However, I had two troubles with the presentation. I felt a little nervous, so I looked at the slides and notes too much and couldn't make enough eye contact. The other trouble is body language. I practiced be the presentation, but I didn't suppose that I had to operate the slides with a remote control. I concentrated to work slides, so I couldn't use many body language. I feel sorry about these two things, but I learned many presentation skills.

I was very inspired by Group 1's presentation for they were well prepared. They were well memorized, well spoken, and have many chance to have eye contacts. First, they are well memorized what they speak in the presentation. They checked their notes just a few times and almost memorized everything. Second, they are well spoken that they were well understood what they are taling about. Also they spoke very clearly so that we could understand about their presentation. Third, I had many eye contacts with them. For they memorized the speeched, their faces are up and eyes are watching audiences to confirm whether we are catching up or not. This week our group will have a presentation so I want to make mine more perfect than Group 1!

I was in group 1 and we did presentation about World Vision. I got really tensed when I was speaking in front of my classmates. My hands and voice were shaking, so I made desperate efforts to stop it and did gestures while I was speaking. Also I fluffed words few times. I think these are the main troubles I had in my presentation. However, I think I did well at speaking in loud voice without looking at my script and making eye contact with audiences. Maybe my voice was not clear or obvious by troubles above, but I believe that I succeeded to tell what I wanted to tell in my presentation. I think presentation has to be accurate and plain for audiences, and I think I achieved this big purpose. If I have opportunities to do presentation in future, I want to make efforts to not to make same mistakes or troubles in this time.

I didn't do presentation last week. I think all presentaitons were very good. If I choose the best one, I will choose Group 1. Actually, I didn't hear about World Vision before presentation. Group 1's presentation is very easy for me to understand. To be honest, I can't have any question because their presentation was filled with information. Our group will present next class. I want to do my best and impress classmates with our presentation.

I will present next class, so I was an audience in last class. All presentations were so interesting, especially, presentation of group 1 was most interesting for me. The reason is that group 1's presentation is was easy to understand. They was good at expediting the presentation. So, I could catch their word easily and I did not feel stressed. In adittion, I was so surprised by their presentation's the degree of perfection. They never have looked their own notes. I thought that I want to present with reference to their presentation.

I am in group2 and I did a presentation last lesson. During my presentation, I got tense very much. My group had a big trouble that we can't control slides. It was a cause that slides was set up before we were aware of it. I think that we had to confirm all slides ahead starting the presentation. In addition, I couldn't make a gesture and eyecontact, because it is difficult to try them due to be overwhelmed with talking. However, I did my best about talking without reading my note. Next lesson, I will enjoy other groups' presentations.

Last week, I was in the audience and I thought all groups were well prepared. All of them did a great job but I think Group1 did the best presentation. They brought a lot of information and the presentation was well organized. Each member spoke about the same amount and none of them read any kind of notes. So they had great eye contact, too. I'm going to have my presentation next class so I want to make sure I can do as good as Group1.

Our group’s presentation had trouble with our screen on the Power Point. But I think we could do very good presentation. I could do eye contacts and gestures to the audience. However I couldn’t do as much as I intended. And because of my tension in my presentation, I couldn’t do my speech fluently and sometimes I couldn’t get what I should speak and get good posture. But I think I could do presentation with using graphs and maps on the screen very well in explaining some dates. So if I have chances to do presentation from now on, I want to ,first do eye contacts and gestures more, second speak more fluently preparing so enough thirdly get more good posture.

I like Group 1's presentation the best. Their presentation was very easy to understand. I've heard the NPO's name, World Vision, but I hadn't known about it. Therefore, I was happy to know about it. Many pictures and graphs helped me to comprehend the topic and not tired me. Also, I was very surprised because members chanted what they explain and spoke clear. I'm going to imitate their attitude and make a great presentation. To watch their presentation, I found that being confident about my own presentation is really important. There are a lot of worry; however, I'll try do my best like Group 1.

I didn't present last week. I think all group's presentations were very good. I like group1's presentation the best particularly. They memorized sentences well. Their gesture was very suitable. They also made good slides easy to understand. And they spoke loud voice and clearly. So I could understand their main idea and their opinion. I want to do such a good presentation, so I will practice speaking.

I was so worried about my presentation because we started to prepare for our presentation almost only a week before. I had little time to make the slides or practice speaking the information. However, I think I did my best to prepare and so did my group members. In the presentation, I think I used body languages better than the poster presentation we did in the last semester. I practiced the gestures again and again to express the information clearly so that everyone can understand our presentation easily. On the other hand, I think I forgot to take eyecontacts with each audience. I knew that it was important to take eyecontacts in order to make people focus on what I was speaking. However, I think I was concentrating on speaking too much. Fron this experience of presentation, I learned that practicing hard before our performance is necessary and I"ll never forget this.

I gave my presentation about Free the Children Japan last week. Thought we held a rehearsal the day before, we had a trouble with our slides on that day. Also, I confused with "decrease" and "increase." There were some troubles, but I have a feeling of satisfaction now. I have felt uneasy about my presentation for the last several days. However, I think that I gave my presentation smoothly in a loud voice. I can speak loudly in front of an audience and I think this is my strong point. I cannot answer the questions well, so I feel English is difficult again. I think this was a good chance for me to enjoy presentation.

As has been expected, I became so nervous that I could not speak smoothly. However, I think there were some good points in my presentation. First, I could speak loud enough. In order to be confident, I cared about a volume of my voice so that everyone could hear of my presentation and tried to hide my nervous. Second, I could make eye contact with the audience. I tried to speak without looking at a manuscript as hard as I could. Also, I didn't look at screen too long. I tried to be confident by doing so. On the other hand, there was a bad point. What I had trouble with was to forget my presentation manuscript. When I stood in front of everyone, I got so nervous that I went blank in my part. Therefore, I panicked a little and I think that everyone couldn't understand my poor English. What's worse, I think I could not use the body language so much. I think my presentation was difficult to understand and I'm not satisfied with it. I felt strongly about importance of preparation. Lastly, I want to thank all of my group members and audience.

I gave a presentation about Free the Children Japan last week. Though we checked our slides before we present, we had a trouble with our slides. I was confused, but I think I could do my best. I was able to present without reading my notes and explain simply. In addition, I could try to face forward and make eye contact with the audience. I couldn’t do these things in my last presentation. So, I feel I did my presentation better than before. However, I couldn’t use gestures and change my voice naturally in order to make my presentation easy to understand. When I have opportunities to give a presentation from now on, I want to practice not only reading aloud but also body language.

I was in audience in the last class. All presentations were nice, but my favorite was group 1's presentation. I hardly knew about the world vision until I heard presentation. For such me, their explanation was easy to understand. As their pronunciation was particularly beautiful and correct, I could hear and understand. And they were stately very much. In addition, much information were shown us clearly. Well organized data helped my understanding. Next class, I will do my best like group 1 with our group members.

I felt my group's presentation was easy to follow and had a colorful slides. Our group members spoke loudly so that the audience could hear. I tried to look at the audience to let them focus on our speech. Everyone looked back at me so it was comfortable for me to speak in front of the class. I had trouble with answering questions from the audience. I paniced when I was asked the question I did not know how to describe. Fortunately, Nicole helped me. I appreciate my group members.

I was the presenter last week.I think we did well on making slides. I think they were easy to make and easy to follow. On the other hand, I think we should have done better if we have practiced at least once before the presentation. I was nervous and for got what to say, so, if we practiced, I think it helped me to get calm. I learned that to talk to my group members is very important in this kind of work. Finally, I like to thank all my group members.
